Uchibā will be a casual Japanese cocktail bar and restaurant by James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole, slated to open in Charlotte’s Plaza Midwood in early 2026 above sister restaurant Uchi.

Their story

The Uchibā concept was inspired by the casual energy of a Japanese izakaya. Created as a companion to Uchi, Uchibā offers a menu built for discovery with grilled yakitori, small plates, and Uchi favorites alongside an extensive list of Japanese whiskies and craft cocktails. Whether for a casual evening or a late‑night bite, Uchibā brings together technique, flavor, and fun in one seamless experience.

HOW WE’VE HELPED

Black Wednesday is working with the Uchiba team to create a launch strategy that includes public relations, cross-brand promotional opportunities, reporting, and new restaurant opening support and execution.
